Managing and increasing referrals can be a difficult on-going task for law firms. One significant way a law firm can strengthen its referrals and overall visibility is by joining lawyer associations. Joining these associations includes a small cost, but are followed by a maximized opportunity for face-to-face networking.
Lawyer associations have various programs, resources, and events, all of which are excellent tools to continue a practice’s growth. Yes, we said it, events. Something so simple can be accomplished by just showing up to the event (in person or even virtually), introducing yourself, and providing valuable information regarding yourself and/or your firm.
When joining a lawyer association, some networking opportunities will be available by participating in workshops, conferences, chamber of commerce gatherings, round-tables, mixers (which are very fun, by the way), and fundraisers. Also, don’t worry, many of these association events are still occurring, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, and being held virtually. Remember to network with a purpose.
Almost 100 percent of people say face-to-face networking meetings are essential for long-term business relationships. Plus, 74 percent of consumers identify word-of-mouth referrals as a key influencer in their purchasing decisions.Lawyerist.com
The face-to-face marketing experience will allow the lawyer to create a lasting impression and forge friendships with lawyers from different niches. One benefit of developing relationships with lawyers outside of your niche is that you are not competing against them for the same type of clients; therefore, they will likely refer you to their friends, family, associates and clients. So get up, get out (even if its virtually) and market face-to-face. Refine that elevator pitch and join a lawyer association today.
